VenueAUT's School of Communication Studies is now housed inside the new, state-of-the-art Sir Paul Reeves Building on the university’s City Campus.
Called the WG learning precinct, the building has specialist facilities including a media centre, a screen and television studio, motion capture and chroma key studio, performance studio, radio station, sound and edit suites and digital media computer labs. Located at the corner of Mayoral Drive and Governor Fitzroy Place, the 12-storey building also has offices, classrooms and labs, plus a 374-seat lecture theatre, and two other lecture theatres.
At the heart of the Sir Paul Reeves building is the School's convergent media centre, where media majors and postgraduates work on their public relations, digital media, advertising or journalism studies. And at the heart of the media centre is the School's state-of-the-art newsroom, complete with high-specification Macs, production facilities, two-camera video studio, audio studio and control room. Here students gather to discuss the day's stories, work on their copy, edit their audio or video and meet professionals from the industry. |
